Artist Statement:

Nathan has been interested in photography ever since he put his hands on his first camera. He began to take his craft seriously when he was asked to teach a beginner photography class at a local high school. While teaching the class Nathan found the technical aspects of photography easy to understand but applying them to make a good image was easier said then done. This single lesson was the catalyst to his photography addiction. During Nathan’s free time you can usually find him covered in dirt and looking through a lens . Nathan has become an active member of the Arlington Heights Camera Club and a Chicago Area Camera Club representative. Nathan’s true passion for photography shows through his nature photography. He attributes this passion to two things. The first is the time he would spend out in the woods exploring or just camping with his family. The second was his involvement with Boy Scouts of America. Both aspects exposed Nathan to what nature was really about and the beauty and value it has. There were some who never understood what he saw walking through the woods but with photography he can finally help people have a glimpse into his world.
